At Sarkari Keraya Prathamika Shale, Tippasandra, the need was expressed with clarity.
Teachers reached out with a formal request for storybooks that could help children build reading habits beyond textbooks—books that could spark curiosity, imagination, and a deeper interest in learning.
It was not a request for quantity, but for quality in the learning experience.
On 5 February 2025, the Kalpaka Foundation team visited the school to understand the learning environment firsthand.
The visit was not to make an immediate decision, but to observe, interact, and ensure that any support extended would truly align with the students’ needs.
Conversations with teachers and time spent with students offered a clearer picture of how reading resources could strengthen everyday learning.
After confirming the requirement, the team returned to the school on 9 February 2025 with a curated set of storybooks for the students.
The books were distributed directly among the children, giving them access to stories designed to encourage reading and exploration.
What followed was a simple but meaningful classroom moment – children opening books, turning pages, and engaging with stories at their own pace, with quiet curiosity and visible interest.
The interaction that day went beyond distribution.
The team spent time with the students, encouraging them to read and explore the books freely. The classroom shifted into a space of engagement – where reading was not instructed, but experienced.
For the volunteers and teachers alike, it became a shared moment of connection through learning.
The Book Donation Drive – Phase 3 reflects a consistent belief of Kalpaka Foundation:
When learning resources reach the right hands at the right time, curiosity does not need to be created—it only needs to be supported.
Through this initiative, students at Sarkari Keraya Prathamika Shale were given access to stories that encourage reading, imagination, and continued learning.
Our work grows when more hands join in. Whether you have an hour or a year, there’s a place for you here.
