KALPAKA CHARITABLE TRUST · CAREERS

Join the people doing the
actual work.

We’re a small, field-based NGO in Bengaluru working across child nutrition, tribal education, environmental conservation, water access, and animal welfare. We are not a large organisation — and we don’t pretend to be. What we are is committed, consistent, and always looking for the right people.

BSW / MSW Field Worker / Volunteers

Kalpaka Charitable Trust · JP Nagar, Bengaluru · Full-time or Part-time

About the role

Kalpaka is looking for a trained social worker — BSW or MSW / Volunteers — who wants to put their education into practice on the ground. This role sits at the centre of our field operations: you’ll be the person who shows up in communities, documents what’s happening, coordinates with volunteers, and ensures our projects actually reach the people they’re meant to reach.

This is not a policy role or a monitoring-from-a-desk role. You will be in tribal schools, in underserved urban communities, and in rural areas outside Bengaluru. The work is demanding and deeply rewarding in equal measure.

What you'll do

  • Community outreach and assessment — visit communities, identify beneficiaries, assess needs, and report findings back to the core team for programme planning
  • Field coordination — support on-ground execution of our projects including child nutrition drives, ration distribution, menstrual health camps, and tribal school visits
  • Volunteer management — brief, coordinate, and debrief volunteers during field events; ensure activities run smoothly and beneficiaries are served respectfully
  • Documentation and reporting — maintain accurate records of beneficiaries reached, resources distributed, and observations from the field; prepare periodic reports for internal review and donor transparency
  • Stakeholder liaison — build and maintain relationships with school principals, village leaders, local health workers, and community representatives who are central to our project delivery
  • Impact monitoring — track outcomes for key programmes such as the child feeding programme, library installations, and water conservation units; flag concerns and successes to the team
  • General programme support — assist across Kalpaka’s active projects as needed, including tree plantation drives, animal welfare water-point installations, and plastic collection events
