Visit to the Anjanapura PHC

Imagine a child crying in pain, their face covered in infections, with no doctor to help. Pregnant women go months without prenatal care. Older adults silently endure pain without medicine. This isn’t just a story—it’s a reality for many in Harinagar Slum, where basic healthcare is out of reach.

Medical camp planning

We, “The Kalpaka” team, are taking action—to bring doctors, medicines, and care to those who need it most.

We are making this happen, but we can’t do it alone. We need everyone to join us in making a difference. Your just ₹25 can help provide medicine, check-ups, and treatment for someone with no other option. It may be small for you, but it can change everything for them.

A Doctor’s Kindness, A Big Step Forward

Our first step was finding medical support; we headed to Konanakunte Primary Health Centre (PHC), hoping for approval. However, when we arrived, the primary doctor was not available. Understanding their limitations, they directed us to Anjanapura PHC. Without hesitation, we moved forward, determined to find the proper support.

When we arrived at Anjanapura PHC, something truly special happened.

The doctor there was so kind and welcoming. He listened to us as we explained the suffering in Harinagar Slum—the pregnant women with no medical care, the elderly with untreated illnesses, and the children covered in painful infections. We could see the concern in his eyes.

He didn’t just give us approval—he offered full support, medical supplies, and valuable advice to help us set up the camp properly.

It wasn’t just permission but a promise that the people of Harinagar Slum would finally get the care they deserved.

A Tent for Healing and Dignity

With medical support secured, our next challenge was making sure patients had a safe and comfortable space for treatment.

The slum is crowded and open, with no proper place for check-ups. We knew we needed a tent—a space where doctors could examine patients in private, where children could get medicine without dust and flies settling on their wounds, and where people could receive care with dignity.

Finding the right tent was not easy. Local shops had nothing that fit our needs. We searched everywhere until we finally found a strong, easy-to-set-up tent online. It wasn’t just a simple purchase—it was a lifeline for those who would come seeking help.

This tent is more than just shelter. It is a place of hope, healing, and comfort.

Progress Begins with a Single Step

As we walked away from Anjanapura PHC, we felt a deep sense of responsibility. There was still a lot to do—arrange transportation, coordinate volunteers, and make sure everything was ready—but we had taken a big step forward.

This medical camp is not just a one-day event. It is our promise to the forgotten, our fight for those who have no voice.

Preparation

We are Kalpaka. And we will not stop until every child, every mother, and every elder in Harinagar Slum gets the care they deserve. Because sometimes, kindness is the best medicine.
